The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has accused the embattled Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu of mobilising thugs to invade the State secretariat of the party in Ado-Ekiti, warning that anyone trying to disrupt the peace of the State will be decisively dealt with.
A statement issued on Sunday, by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Jackson Adebayo alleged that “after a meeting at Kashamu’s Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State residence today, a sum of N5 million was made available to mobilise armed thugs for the invasion of the party secretariat in Ekiti State.”
The PDP Spokesperson alleged that some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have also been mobilised to join the invasion, as if they were PDP members.
Adebayo, who said the game plan was to cause chaos so that the party secretariat in Ado Ekiti, in particular can be sealed up be security agents, said “Buruji Kashamu and his cohorts should be reminded that this is Ekiti State, and not Ogun State where he does whatever he desires and get away with it.”
He called on security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities and forestall any attempt to cause breakdown of law and order in the State.
“We wish to remind those being propelled into taking laws into their hands because of judgment that has been appealed that whenever they choose to carry out their devilish plan to invade PDP secretariats across Ekiti State, they will have the people to contend with.
“Also, those in Buruji Kashamu’s camp that are working with the APC cabal to carry out the same evil agenda that they carried out in Ondo State should know that this is Ekiti where the people are in control of the power that belongs to them.
“If because of Buruji Kashamu’s N5 million, you have elected to confront the people of Ekiti State, you will surely meet us here,” Adebayo said.
