Ekiti Guber Election: 25 APC aspirants spend N200m on nomination forms

Despite giving impression to Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was fighting corruption, the party has received a sum of N200 million by aspirants seeking its ticket to contest the July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State.

An APC governorship aspirant is expected to pay N5.5 million for nomination and expression of interest forms to the purse of the national secretariat and another N2.5 million to the state chapter as party development fund.

As at last Friday, 25 aspirants had already obtained Nomination Forms, bringing total amount raked by the party on the Ekiti election to N200 million.

Analysts are of the opinion that for a party that is claiming to be fighting corruption, collecting N8 million from aspirants seeking its ticket is outrageous.

Some of those who have obtained the nomination form included; Senator Ayo Arise, Chief Segun Oni, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, , Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, Mr. Muyiwa Coker, Mrs. Christiana Mojisola Yaya Kolade , Otunba Yinka Akerele.

Others are; Senator Gbenga Aluko, Hon. Femi Bamisile, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, Dr. Wole Oluyede, Mr. Debo Ranti Ajayi , Mr. Kola Alabi, Dr. Makanjuola Akindele, Mr Muyiwa Olumilua, among others.

From Ekiti South; three are from Gbonyin Local Government, two from Ekiti East, three from Ikere, one from Ise-Orun and two from Emure.

Out of the seven aspirants from the Central Senatorial District, one is from Ado, two from Irepodun-Ifelodun, two from Efon and two from Ijero local council.

From the North, five are from Oye local government and two from Ido-Osi.
